Set a Passcode to Your Messages on iPhone 5

Steps to Follow to Lock Messages on iPhone 5

Step 1: First you need to go to the “Settings” option that can be found on the Home screen of your iPhone 5.
Step 2: Click the “General” option and you will be moved to another screen where you need to select the option “Passcode Lock”.
Step 3: Now click the option “Turn Passcode On” that can be found on your screen.
Step 4: You have to add a passcode consists of four digits and re-enter it to confirm whether you have entered a correct code. Now you have set a passcode to your device and you need to provide this code whenever you restart it.
Step 5: Now return to your “Home” key by closing the “Settings” option and click to the “Sleep/Wake” option that can be seen on the top corner of your iOS device. It should turn off to activate the Messages passcode.
Once you turn off the “Sleep/Wake” option on your iPhone 5, the passcode will start working and you have secured your messages.

Precaution:
You should select a passcode that is easy to remember for you because if you forget the password, your iOS device will need to be wiped and you will lose the data and Messages you have saved in it. So you should be very much careful for choosing a passcode for it.
