Prerequisites
- You need Google Play edition HTC One or Samsung Galaxy S4 that runs the fully stock prescribed Google Play edition app.
- You can perform Stock recovery, but a custom recovery such as ClockworkMod or TWRP is also required.
- To begin, you need to transfer the required OTA zip file to your device that has been downloaded earlier from the link mentioned above in the Prerequisites.
- Your system should be rebooted in recovery mode and then:
For Galaxy S4: Keep pressing the Home key, Volume Up and Power key simultaneously.
- If in stock recovery, you will see an Android robot with a red triangle. Now you need to keep pressing Power and Volume up keys to make the recovery options visible. It may need a few trials to perform this task.
- Once, you have done with it, you need to open the update. You should select “Apply” from the Phone Storage menu and then click on the zip file of “updates” and press the Power button.
- Remove cache and dalvik cache as well. Your important data will get no harm.
- Now reboot your device and that’s all. Your HTC One or Galaxy S4 will boot into Android 4.3.
